Memorial Day weekend was a no-refusal weekend in Houston to help police keep a lookout for people driving cars and boats while intoxicated.
During a no-refusal weekend, drivers that are pulled over and do not pass the field sobriety tests and refuse to blow into the Breathalyzer, detectives can get a search warrant to draw their blood.
The no-refusal weekend began at 10 pm on Friday and continued through Monday. Last year, the no-refusal policy on Memorial Day weekend led to 247 DWI-related charges.
