Houston has begun a new program to reduce the number of people who drink and drive by offering people a safe ride home when leaving bars or restaurants.
The program allows local, participating establishments to offer patrons a free cab ride home instead of driving while intoxicated and getting caught by police or worse, hurting someone or themselves.
Silver Eagle Distributors, L.P., The Greater Houston Restaurant Association and the Greater Houston Transportation Company are partnering to put the program together and they share the same goal: to promote safe alcohol consumption.
