According to police, two men involved in a high-speed police chase late Friday night ended up crashing into another vehicle, killing that driver and injuring his passenger.

Both occupants of the vehicle fleeing the police have been charged with a variety of crimes, including DWI, evading arrest, and intoxication manslaughter.

The incident began around 11:30 PM when a police officer observed the two occupants of the vehicle assaulting a third man behind a restaurant on Edgebrook near the Gulf Freeway. The two men fled the scene in their vehicle.

Their SUV rammed into the back of a Toyota Corolla on Telephone near Oak Cliff and then rolled over before sliding on its side and smashing into a telephone pole.

Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to local hospitals.
